Thubelihle is Hemiplegia. He suffered a stroke which paralyzed one side of his body. The paralysis caused weakness, problems with muscle control, and muscle stiffness. “With my feet, it is very hard for me to use a normal latrine l have difficulties squatting and balancing.” With the aim to find a solution that enables for safe use of latrines, Caritas Bulawayo worked with the Ministry of Health and Child Care to develop a user-friendly latrine for Thubelihle Ncube in village 4 Bubi district Matabeleland North. The latrine was furnished to suit his needs. Rays, ramps and fabricated toilet seats were erected in

l used to be carried to the latrine and assisted with balancing and squatting as l relieve myself. My privacy was affected heavily. Access to appropriate ablution facilities is critical for disability inclusion. Appropriate assistance enables persons with disabilities to access critical services, participate equally in the community and live with dignity.
